Surface NMR Sensors Family

These types of sensors developed for large objects investigation. The sample volume is not limited using this sensor type. The procedure of sample preparation is very simple and doesn't require placement of the part of sample into tube like in conventional NMR devices. You should place sensor to the sample surface or per contra. It provides absolute non-destructive analysis process. For different purpose different geometry of RF-coil and magnets construction are possible.

All of these sensors have the same principle and construction. Distinctions can be found only in size, penetration, s/n ratio etc., thus, it determines suitable applications of them. High-penetration Surface NMR Sensor [1]

This type has extremely high (up to 10mm) penetration depth for open-side NMR probes without resonance circuit retuning. It was developed for tires investigation. Changing operating frequency of Spin Track NMR analyzer was possible to determine the proton density distribution from surface into sample. This provided determination of distribution of strengthening compound in the sample. Thus, this technique can provide rheology compatible experiments without sample disturbing and damaging. Standard-type compact NMR Sensor [2]

Like said above this sensor was developed for the same investigation field. It can be characterized by extremely high sensitivity and s/n ratio. In comparison with Sensor 1 it has a little less penetration, but high sensitivity allows to reduce number of scans in 3 times approximately. Moreover it has relatively small dimensions.

Standard-type super compact NMR Sensor [3]

This probe is small (fit in fits), suitable for great variety of tasks. It has good (>9) s/n ratio, thin sensitive area and penetration not more than 3-4 mm. Applicable for education process and demonstrations.

5-channel MRI surface system [4]

This system was planned for the automotive unit of a big rubber part company in Germany to provide MRI based 1-D experiments with reinforced air spring bellows for personal cars. It was submitted with 5 sensor cells, gradient system and step motor driver for sample feeding. Full control from Spin Track universal real-time bus (URTB) provided to determine distance from reinforcing element along the ring sample with required precision (less than 0.1 mm).
